Wolf Creek ATA PD Committee Initiatives


Specialist Council Bursary Draw: The Local ATA #3 Professional Development Committee is offering a $200 bursary draw for Wolf Creek teachers who attend a specialist conference. One bursary per specialist council conference will be available. The successful draw applicant will have to provide proof of attendance at the specialist conference (receipt of registration). Draw for bursary will be in May 2025. Specialist Council Grant -  


Book Study Grant: The Local Ata #3 Professional Development Committee is offering a grant this year for teachers that want to do a book study as a part of their professional development; individually or as a group. The Book can be nonfiction or fiction but must be related to the Teacher Quality Standard or related to learning about mental health.

A maximum book price of $50 and limited to one book per person per school year,

This grant is meant for a personal independent book study group; this grant is not meant for a district or school mandated book study.

What the PD committee will do

  • Notify you if the meet the requirements

  • Buy the book and send them to your site (or approve an alternative format purchase)

We have a large collection professional development materials for teachers in both French and English.Borrowing is restricted to ATA members, associate members, life members, and ATA staff.  All materials are loaned by mail (with return postage prepaid) for a period of one month.

Common Threads for Inclusive Education

In collaboration with the Council for Inclusive Education, a new resource series, Common Threads for Inclusive Education, continues to be developed to support implementation of the new Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard specific to inclusive education.  Each of the resources contain background information, teaching strategies and further resources specific to the topics and are designed to be entry points to further learning.
